Welcome to the University of Kansas Panhellenic Association website!

Our campus is full of rich tradition, incredible communities, and motivated students.
The University of Kansas Panhellenic Association is a wonderful, educational institution that will prepare you for everything beyond your college years.
My name is Maryn Ruffin, and I am the President of the Panhellenic Association (PHA).
On behalf of the entire Panhellenic community, welcome to the Panhellenic Association (PHA) at the University of Kansas! Our community is home to 11 National Panhellenic Conference chapters and more than 3,000 members. With so many incredible women, each chapter offers its own unique experience and countless opportunities for friendship, leadership, personal growth, and involvement. As a Panhellenic Council, we are committed to fostering a community rooted in compassion, integrity, and empowerment. Being part of a sorority is about far more than the letters we wear, it is about joining something bigger than ourselves and becoming deeply connected to the KU community. Panhellenic women are involved across campus, from athletics and Student Senate to the University Daily Kansas, research initiatives, and beyond.
My own experience in the Panhellenic community over the past three years has been truly transformative. It has opened doors to my own growth as a person and as a leader that I never knew I was capable of! As an older sister, stepping into the Panhellenic community felt especially meaningful because I have always valued guidance and creating spaces where others feel supported. Coming from a smaller community in a larger town, I arrived at KU hoping to find a place that would feel both welcoming and grounding. I wanted to find a place to make the large campus feel small. To be honest, I was initially hesitant about recruitment, as the process felt outside of my comfort zone. Looking back, I am so incredibly grateful I took that leap, because it pushed me to grow in ways I never expected and opened the door to opportunities that have not only shaped my college experience, but to opportunities that will continue to shape the rest of my life.
Since joining, I have gained lifelong friendships, invaluable leadership skills, and a deeper sense of purpose within this community. I have had the privilege of serving as my chapter’s Academic Chair, working to support members in their academic success, as well as on the Panhellenic Association’s New Member Development Committee. Most recently, I served as Panhellenic Association Vice President of Accountability, a role that allowed me to help uphold the values and integrity of our community. Each of these experiences has been incredibly rewarding and has reinforced how special this community truly is. Serving Panhellenic has been one of the most meaningful parts of my time at KU, and it has given me a home away from home that I am so proud to now help lead. Panhellenic is grounded in four core pillars: Leadership, Scholarship, Friendship, and Service. These values guide our members and encourage excellence in all aspects of life. Whether through social events, philanthropic initiatives, or leadership roles, there is a place for everyone within the Panhellenic community. Our strength comes from the diversity of our members, women with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences who make our community stronger together. I hope you find a chapter that recognizes your passions, celebrates your strengths, and inspires you to achieve more than you ever thought possible. We are so excited about your interest in joining the Panhellenic Association! If you have any questions, big or small, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the Panhellenic Association Executive Board. Wishing you a wonderful year, Rock Chalk!
