Letters of recommendation are OPTIONAL and do not impact a PNM’s ability to get a bid.

Do not send in more than 2 letters of recommendation to a chapter.

Letters of recommendation do not have to be written by a KU alumna but typically do need to come from someone in that organization.

The purpose of letters of recommendation is for chapters to get to know you before recruitment starts, and does not give you an advantage to any chapter.

All letters are due July 26th.

Many of our chapters require a certain GPA in order to receive an invitation for membership, which is why we include it in our guidebook. However, there is no minimum GPA requirement to go through the recruitment process, but your GPA may impact the number of invitations you receive. Keep in mind there are many factors that go into a chapter's decision to invite an individual back and these numbers do not automatically disqualify you from membership. So it is not the most important deciding factor for a chapter but can play a role in their decision process. PHA will reach out to all PNMs who register and have a GPA below all chapters requirements. COR is also a great option for PNMs who want to take additional time to raise their GPA

The SW 301 course is a required credit that all members of the Panhellenic community are required to take. The University of Kansas Panhellenic Association has passed a standing rule giving new members access to a gender-based violence prevention training seminar.

The seminar was created in conjunction with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Education Center SAPEC) and the members of the Panhellenic Executive Board. Participation in this course will eliminate all weekend and evening training obligations new members previously had, in order to get the information in a more feasible way.

Yes! PNM scholarships will be given out this summer to assist in recruitment registration fees. These fees will cover the registration cost as well as either early move-in to residence halls OR a pre-paid dining plan. Students will be reimbursed for these when they check-in. Applications will open soon!

At the end of each round, PNMs will work with their recruitment counselors to preference (in order) the sororities they wish to return to the next day. This is done through a phone app! On the other side, chapters will be doing a similar process where they choose which PNMs to bring back to the next invitational. This is known as a “mutual selection” process.

As you explore the exciting opportunities of joining a Panhellenic sorority, we want to share important information regarding how organizations should engage with you before and throughout the week recruitment (August 15th- August 22nd) on social media. 

You may notice that some sorority members or chapters may follow, like, or even message you on social media. While this outreach can feel exciting, it’s important to understand that these interactions are not an invitation to join a specific chapter or a guarantee of anything related to an invitation to the next round or membership. Any outreach you receive should be focused solely on positively promoting the overall Panhellenic experience — sharing the value, opportunities, and lifelong sisterhood that sorority life offers — not on promoting one specific organization over others. It’s also important to know that not receiving social media outreach is completely normal and has no reflection on your potential to find your home. Every PNM’s experience is different, and recruitment decisions are not based on social media engagement at all. If you happen to know a current member of a chapter here at KU you can reach out to them with questions, however, the Panhellenic team and Recruitment Counselors have the most knowledge about all chapters and the recruitment experience in general. • Saturday (Move-In Day): You will meet with your Recruitment Group in the late afternoon and attend a short orientation session. Here you will be able to download the recruitment app we use which will give you access to your schedule right on your phone!

  • We also have a Family Orientation in the evening. This session will be recorded and posted here for those that are unable to stick around.

• Sunday & Monday (Open House Rounds): Events will begin at 9am and end at 6:55 pm

• Tuesday & Wednesday (Philanthropy Rounds): Events will start at 9am and end at 5:30pm

• Thursday (Sisterhood Round): Events will start at 8am and end at 9:20pm

• Friday (Preference): Events will start at 9am and end at 6pm

• Saturday (Bid Day): Bid Day will begin at 2:30pm with chapter festivities starting directly after. All events are for New Members and current chapter members only.
